What do you get when you cut corners off a cube? Pick how many and how deep, and compare the nets.
Cutting 1, 2 or all corners uses the same depth, about 0.29 of the edge. Cut every corner all the way to the edge midpoints and the cuts meet: you get a cuboctahedron.
One corner cut off, as deep as for the truncated cube. Three squares become pentagons and the cut is a triangle (7 faces).
